RECEIVES 201 7 APEX AWARD FOR PUBLICATION EXCELLENCE

CALDWELL, ID — The Idaho Quarter Horse Association (IQHA) and the Appa-loosa Journal team are excited to announce that the IQH Annual has been honored with a 2017 APEX Award for Publication Excellence.CALDWELL, ID — The Idaho Quarter Horse Association (IQHA) and the Appa-loosa Journal team are excited to announce that the IQH Annual has been honored with a 2017 APEX Award for Publication Excellence.Now in its 29th year, the APEX competition is sponsored by Communications Concepts, Inc., which advises publishing, PR and marketing professionals on best practices in print, web and publishing.

Winning among 161 Design & Illustration submissions, the 2017 IQH Annual cover captured a vibrant and dynamic Quarter Horse in action, beautifully photographed by David R. Stoeklein and designed into a compelling cover by Art Director Barbara T. Lawrie.

Fellow winning entrants in the 2017 competition include: Hearst Media, NASA, Disneyland Resort, American Bar Association, Merrill Lynch, American Cancer Society, Time Inc., AARP, Ford Motor Company, Aflac, Prudential Group Insurance, Lockheed Martin Corporation, and GEICO to name only a few. The 11 major categories attracted 1,361 entries and the competition was stated to be of “extraordinary quality.”The IQH Annual, IQHA’s regional, annual, full-color magazine is proudly produced by the Appaloosa Journal team in Moscow, Idaho. “This is the second prestigious and national award this publication has earned in as many years,” said Dana Russell, editor. “This is a terrific collaboration that provides a valuable service to Quarter Horse owners and equine enthusiasts in Idaho and throughout the region of the Inland Northwest.”

THE IQHA MISSION:
• To act as the affiliate for AQPLA in Idaho and to protect and promote the breed.
• To make available AQHA educational programs, material and curriculum that will position IQHA as the leading equine resource in Idaho.
• To provide beneficial services and partnerships that enhances and encourages American Quarter Horse ownership and participation.
