Honoring Individuals and Horses Who Made a Difference

Induction into the IQHA Hall of Fame is one of the highest honors bestowed by the Idaho Quarter Horse Association. Reserved for individuals who have exhibited the highest standards of sportsmanship and horsemanship, and those who have made memorable contributions to IQHA/AQHA; and for horses who have made a significant impact and contributed to the rich tradition of the American Quarter Horse breed.

2023 inductee

With a standing ovation from a standing-room only crowd, Doug Williamson was inducted into the Idaho Quarter Horse Association’s Hall of Fame. A Million Dollar Rider and winner of the Reserve World’s Greatest Horseman, he is a member of the NRCHA Hall of Fame. The respect for Doug’s horsemanship and the love for the man was  apparent at the ceremony held on November 3, 2023, at the Idaho Horse Park.

Before moving to Bakersfield, California to head up the horse operations at the Tejon Ranch, Doug was a longtime Nampa, Idaho trainer with forty-two AQHA World Champions. He ranks among the AQHA’s most successful trainers.
